Harry Turns 7 Months and Adds to the Developmental Milestones
Harry turned 7 months today! Still can't believe that so much time has passed since that stormy night we headed to the hospital. But I know that every parent says this along the path of watching their children grow up. On the Harry developments front... he has added "DaDa" to the "talking" mix. It is very cute because most of the time he whispers it for some reason. He is very proud of himself, however, and gets exceedingly pleased when you say "BaBa" or "DaDa" back to him - he is clearly thinking "finally, some words we have in common, what a relief!" (Given the popularity of the "Baba" video, will do our best to capture current Harry lingo on tape.) The crawling attempts are coming along. Today he managed to move himself about a foot forward but it was mostly with his head down, so he wasn't too happy about it. He keeps launching himself forward in an attempt to get the crawling going. We are just waiting for it to happen. He also has a special smile that he reserves for his Mummy and Daddy. Just makes the heart swell when one sees it. He also cut another tooth! So there are two little teeth down on the bottom. We now have to start thinking about cleaning them. Another thing to add to the list of "Harry maintenance" items. :-) The really big news is that Harry pulled himself up to a standing position today! We have this soft ottoman and he used the top of it to pull himself up. He definitely needs Mummy to be there to make sure he doesn't fall over with a bump but it is great to see him taking the "steps" towards standing and eventually walking! His sleeping is also making big strides with him going 9 hours straight, much to the relief of his parents. :-) Basically, Harry is a joy and every day I wonder what we did to deserve such a sweetie. Yes, there are challenges and at times it is overwhelming. But at the end of the day we have this little one who clearly loves us and who we love so dearly. It still amazes me how much he makes our hearts expand with love and I just hope that we can live up to everything that he deserves.
