Harry is Officially Named!!!

On the 20th of January 2007 Harry Benjamin Holden-Brown was officially named at a small ceremony we held at our house. There were many preparations and we were quite exhausted following - hence the long period between the event and this post. But we are now starting to recover and bask in the glow of the achievement. It was a beautiful day. Everything went off like clockwork. There was a lot of preparation that went into it. James, Becky, Eric and my Mummy were all instrumental in making it happen - working until 2am the night before. But we pulled it off. The house looked beautiful. The chuppa that we decided to make as an improvisation for the ceremony turned out better than expected. The ceremony that we wrote, with some minor flow issues, worked really well. Everyone said some really beuatiful things and as expected I was very teary eyed through most of it. I think all in all it was a great day and we welcomed Harry with aplomb. We had a full house the night of the ceremony. Mickey and Harold - one set of my godparents - made the journey up from North Carolina and were staying with us along with my grandfather and sister, Dan's sister Lisa who had come from Boston and my mum. So there was lots of laundry post the event which I have only recently finished. The great thing is that we have wonderful memories of the day and of the things that everyone said. There is no doubt in my mind that it was a good thing we did and that we would have regretted had we not done it. We also started Harry out right with all of the adults in his life committing to love and cherish him all of his days. What more could he ask for.
